If you want to vote in the US elections from the Holy Land, here are the details.

Tel Aviv
Residents near Tel Aviv can submit your US absentee ballot and vote:

When: Sunday, October 26.
6:00 p.m. till midnight

Location: The Dancing Camel
HaTaasiya #12, Tel Aviv – Corner of HaMasger near the Central Bus Station

Jerusalem
Residents near Jerusalem can submit your US absentee ballot and vote:

When: Tuesday, October 28.
5:00 p.m. till 10:00 p.m.

In this case, I would like to pass on this message from Vote from Israel.

Vote From Israel is a non-partisan, nonprofit dedicated to getting Americans in Israel to Vote in the upcoming US elections for President.

To vote from overseas, you MUST be registered. If you aren’t registered, you can’t vote. Period.

Registration ends October 6, 2008. In other words, in a week.

Here’s what you need to do:

1. Go to the website.
2. Enter your name.
3. Download the PDF form.
4. Print it out.
5. Fill it out and sign it.
6. Drop it off at one of the drop-off points around the country (listed at the site) by October 6.

If it isn’t dropped off, you can’t vote!

I am not going to tell you who to vote for – that is your decision (and I think you could guess who that would be) – but I do think it is important to vote in these US elections.

I know if I was American, I would be doing just that.

A new Palestinian public poll revealed on Wednesday that 33.5% of the Palestinians are in favor of Mr. John Mc Cain as a presidential candidate in the US elections, and 66.6 % evaluated their economic situation as ‘bad’.

The results of a public poll conducted in the period from (1-10) September 2008, by the Palestinian Center for Public Opinion (PCPO) show that poll results revealed (33.5 %) are at present in favor of Mr. John McCain, the candidate of the US Republicans, as the coming President of the United States of America, whilst Mr.

Barack Obama, the candidate of the Democratic Party, scored (27.7 %). (30.4 %) of the Palestinians said they “favor neither of them” and (8.3 %) declined to answer.

I cannot for the life of me understand why more palestinians would favor McCain over Obama, nor why they would favor McCain over “neither candidate.”

I guess Palin really was an inspired choice.

Unless, of course, anyone else smells a rat.
