While the month-long Hudna has so far seen a drop in the number of attempted homicide bombings, it has seen a huge increase in the number of attempted and actual kidnappings.

Almost a week after Oleg Shaichat’s body was discovered after he was kidnapped, Tiberias teenager Dana Bennet went missing Friday morning and has not been seen since.

It has also been revealed that a group of men attempted to kidnap a soldier on Thursday evening.

The soldier, who serves in the Golan Heights, rode on a bus provided by the army and got off at the Yokneam Junction where he waited for his brother to pick him up. A car drew up near the soldier containing a driver and two passengers.

The driver offered the soldier a lift, when he refused the two passengers got out of the car and one attempted to force the soldier into the vehicle. The soldier pushed the person away and aimed his weapon at the three who fled in the vehicle.

This is all particularly worrying, given that Hezbollah recently threatened to kidnap more Israelis.

UPDATE 4/8: A 19 year old yeshiva student from the US is now also missing.
