Isi Liebler, World Jewish Congress senior vice president, has written a scathing letter to its president, Edgar Bronfman, calling for him to apologize or resign for his attempt to influence US policy towards the security fence to Israel’s detriment.
Isi criticizes Bronfman, a resident of New York, lobbying “..the president of the United States to resist policies being promoted by the government of Israel”, especially considering the fact that the fence is a “security issue…that impacts on the life and death of Israelis”.
It is inconceivable that the president of a body representing Jews around the world would unilaterally act in such a way as to potentially endanger the lives of Israel’s citizens. I would go further than Isi Liebler and demand that Bronfman resign immediately, regardless of any apologies or retractions.
