SERVING THE PUBLIC

Israel’s answer to the ox, Shimon Peres, has stated that he hopes to still be serving the public for a long time to come.

Opposition leader Shimon Peres, who turns 80 on Saturday, said in an interview with The Jerusalem Post that he hopes to still be serving the public when he turns 90. He said he does not know how long he will remain in public office, but stressed that one does not have to be in public service to serve the public.

In his case, he would definitely be serving the public by not being in public service.
