While the PA Arabs compain about the security fence, it has been revealed that many of them are benefitting from it – with jobs!
Deputy Chief-of-Staff General Gabi Ashkenazi told a Knesset committee today (Tuesday) that the partition fence will cost over 10 billion NIS and is being built to a large extent by PA Arab workers.
“The security fence is being built, in many cases, by Palestinian Arabs,” Deputy Chief-of-Staff General Gabi Ashkenazi told a Knesset committee today (Tuesday).
As I revealed in a previous post about settlements, many PA Arabs also received a livelihood from the building of the settlements.
While I am apprehensive about the prudence of hiring PA Arabs to build the very fence that many of them vehemently oppose (from a security risk point of view), this illustrates an important point not mentioned by the mainstream media – the PA Arabs derive benefit from the much maligned fence and the settlements.
