Palestinian boy killed in West Bank explosion
So goes the Reuters headline, leading the average reader to believe that the Israelis are responsible. That is, until you read the actual story.
A nine-year-old Palestinian boy was killed and two other children were wounded in the West Bank on Tuesday when they accidentally detonated a pipe bomb apparently prepared by militants, witnesses said.
“Apparently”? Who else uses pipe bombs?
The usually reliable Jerusalem Post is not much better, though:
Palestinian boy, 9, killed by explosive device
A nine-year-old Palestinian boy was killed and two others were injured in the village of Deir Jusun near Tulkarm when an explosive device exploded there, Israel Radio reported Tuesday.
The boys apparently picked up a pipe bomb that was lying on the ground. The bomb was prepared by Palestinians, perhaps to be used against Israeli targets.
Ya think?
Heck, even Ha’aretz, Israel’s answer to The Guardian, is less misleading.
Update: Predictably, the PLO Arabs are blaming Israel for the child’s death.

It was, only an apparent bomb made by apparently the usual culprits but who managed to eliminate happily some would be terrorists.
