With the Gay Pride parade scheduled to take place in Jerusalem this evening, Jerusalem Mayor Lupolianski finds himself needing protection.
Two bodyguards were hired Thursday to accompany Jerusalem Mayor Uri Lupolianski after security officials received intelligence information indicating that factions in the ultra-Orthodox Jewish community were planning to harm him.
Elected last year, Lupolianski is the first ultra-Orthodox Jew to serve as mayor of Jerusalem. Members of the ultra-Orthodox community are particularly incensed that he is allowing the third annual Gay Pride parade to take place in the holy city.
And in an Israellycool exclusive, I have obtained a picture of the bodyguards designated to protect the mayor.
