Israeli women: Not to be messed with.
El Al, Israel’s national airline, has started using more female security guards as Air Marshals on passenger airplanes.
A report by Yedioth Ahronot published Sunday said that there is a growing trend of employing women as Air Marshals.
Several women have in recent years broken through to some male dominated Israel Defense Forces units, including Air Force combat pilots and front-line infantry.

According to Yediot, female Shabak bodyguards protecting Israeli leaders have performed as well as their male counterparts. The female security officers are put through the same intensive training as the male officers, “If a woman can pilot an F-16, there is no reason she can’t protect a pilot and passengers”, an unnamed security official told the paper.
Don’t think the religious ones aren’t tough either.
In the past two years, a steady rise has been recorded in the number of young women from the religious Zionist camp who finish the ulpana (high school for girls) and opt to join the IDF instead of the more traditional national service program (in which they perform community service).
More interestingly, the girls choose to be recruited by the IDF in spite of the rabbisí objection. One of the young women is even in advanced stages of the armyís prestigious pilotís training course, while four others are in preliminary stages.
Meanwhile, in much of the Arab world, a woman is lucky if she can even leave the house.
Update: Maybe that last statement was a tad harsh. After all, women have made great progress in the Arab world. For instance, they can now become suicide bombers.
