Is he Even Capable of Telling the Truth?

“Liar!”:

Finance Minister Binyamin Netanyahu Wednesday rejected former US president Bill Clinton’s assertion, made in his new book, that he had been prepared to give up the Golan Heights.

Netanyahu responded that Clinton’s version of events is incorrect, and that the Americans were never involved in any stage of the secret contacts between him and the late Syrian leader Hafez Assad.

“I never agreed to withdraw from the Golan Heights in any situation or in any talks,” he said in radio interviews. “The negotiations were unsuccessful because I insisted that the final international border be located miles eastward of the current border.”

“Liar,liar!”:

In his memoirs released this week, former President Bill Clinton lies about his promised release of Jonathan Pollard, who was sentenced to life in prison for spying on behalf of Israel, Pollard told WND yesterday.

In his book, “My Life,” Clinton reflects on the 1998 Wye River Accords, in which Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was told Pollard would be released as part of a deal that would also free 750 Palestinian terrorists from Israeli prisons.

Clinton says Netanyahu brought up the Pollard issue at the last minute, and that he had to renege on the release after CIA Director George Tenet threatened to resign if Pollard’s sentence was commuted.

But Pollard, relying on personal reports he says he received from the Israeli team at Wye including Netanyahu and former Cabinet Secretary Dan Naveh, as well as public onñrecord statements of key participants, maintains his release was promised by Clinton as an integral part of the Wye Accords.

He says Clinton waited until the last minute, after Netanyahu settled on key elements of the accords, to take the offer back, and then pinned the blame on Tenet.

Pollard’s version of events has been corroborated by the Israeli delegation at Wye including Netanyahu and Naveh, and by prominent Jewish leaders.

Pollard told WND: “It is too late to stop the new round of lies in Clinton’s book. There is now a moral imperative which demands that the key participants at Wye ñ all eyewitnesses to the deal ñ including Prime Minister Sharon, Foreign Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Minister of Diaspora Affairs Natan Sharansky ñ speak out in a united front to challenge Clinton’s lies.”

“Big, fat liar!”:

Bill Clinton’s autobiography “My Life” has been raising eyebrows in New Zealand amid rumblings the former US president has been less than truthful about the mountainous origins of his wife’s name.

Mr Clinton’s claim that Hillary was named in honour of Sir Edmund Hillary, the New Zealander who conquered Mount Everest, has created more interest here than the former president’s relationship with White House intern Monica Lewinsky.

On several visits to New Zealand during his time in office, the president referred to Sir Edmund as “the second favourite Hillary in our household”, while Hillary herself has attributed her moniker to the mountaineer.

There is even an after dinner joke here that goes: “What do Bill Clinton and New Zealand have in common? They both owe their reputations to Hillary.”

But the story has a fundamental problem: Edmund Hillary reached Everest’s peak on May 29, 1953, nearly seven years after the infant Hillary arrived in the world.

Maybe the name of his book should be changed from My Life to My Lie.
