The phone bill for the office of a Palestinian Authority minister recently reached $22,000 dollars, a prominent Palestinian human rights activist disclosed on Wednesday.
Khalil Abu Shamaleh, director-general of the Ad-Dameer Association for Human Rights, called on the members of the Palestinian Legislative Council to resign en masse as a first step towards implementing major reforms in the PA.
In an interview with the Gaza-based Alawatanvoice electronic magazine, Abu Shamaleh refused to mention the name of the minister who ran the huge phone bill. However, he said this case was an indication of widespread corruption and waste of public funds in PA ministries and institutions.
I wonder if his wife will divorce him.
