Olmert Faces the Music

At today’s special Knesset debate on the Winograd report, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert listened in silence, as speaker after speaker ripped him a new one.

“Tough crowd.”
It didn’t help that he was seated right next to Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, who had called for Olmert’s resignation..

“This is awkward”
At one point in the proceedings, a heckler approached Olmert and let him know how he felt..

“Loser?! I think you mean him.”
“Sorry Shimon, but you have to admit it. Your’e not known for winning, and your ideas are – quite frankly – a bit kooky.”
It was not long afterwards that Olmert was overwhelmed by an uncomfortable – but familiar – sensation..

“Dammit, Amir! You’ve been near my food again.”
Little did Olmert know, but the culprit was someone else entirely…

  1. This is yet another time when I am proud to call you Israelis my friends. As an American I envy your ability not only to critize your leaders when they screw up, but to actually do something about it. If only we could do something like this with our failed leaders here in America.

Olmert is not up to the job, then you get someone else. I do fear that someone else is going to be Bibi. Don’t get me wrong, Netanyahu has his admirers here in the USA. He is articulate and speaks with in unaccented (to an American ear) English. I think he’d get along well with the Bushies and conservative Jews. But Netanyahu has a way of saying things about Islamic terrorism that makes me think he wants Americans to fight Israel’s wars. He’s a little too direct and prodding on the subject. I think he’d create a lot of opposition to Israel here in America if he’s elected. Jim from Iowa

  2. Funny. Dave you crack me up. Poor Olmer – why doesnt the dude just retire? Man, if I was him Id be outta there – for the sake of d peoples ofcourse. The picture of Bejamin is funny on its own!
