Note: This next story is already days old, but on the off chance some of you have not read about it already, I am posting it, since it is too important to miss.
Last Friday, Israeli Arab Ahmad Mahmoud Khatib was shot and killed by by an Israeli security guard in the old city of Jerusalem, after snatching the gun of another security guard and trying to kill him.
Predictably, there are many who are already claiming he was murdered.
Khatib’s family and associates said over the weekend that he came to Jerusalem for Friday prayers on the Temple Mount and was killed because he had left his identity card at home.

The funeral began with a speech by Sheikh Raed Salah, the leader of the Islamic Movement’s northern branch. “Those who murdered Ahmed Khatib are criminals, terrorists and cowards” he said. He also promised that those responsible will be cursed by Ahmed’s blood.
And..
Khatib’s acquaintances and relatives of the terrorist said that they were surprised to hear about the incident he was involved in, during which he snatched the gun of one security guard before exchanging fire with another guard.
According to the acquaintances, “He was a quiet and introverted person, who was incapable of raising his hand on anyone. People cannot believe what is being said here, that he snatched a security guard’s weapon. He is simply a person who is incapable of doing such a thing.”
They added that his family was “normative, quiet and respected.”

Many of those who arrived at the family’s home on Saturday claimed that Khatib was “killed for nothing” as he did not try to carry out a shooting attack.
According to the acquaintances, the incident was made up by the two security guards in order to avoid murder charges.
“The guards are the only ones who say that he tried to snatch the weapon. There is no evidence for that, and he can no longer testify and defend himself. It’s a shame that the police fell for it, as did the Shin Bet apparently. We are now calling it first-degree murder.”
Well, actually there is evidence, in the form of closed circuit video footage from the scene of the shooting, which shows Khatib following the guards, grabbing the gun of one of them as they start to enter a kiosk, and then running away. The video also shows how at one point, Khatib tries to shoot one of the guards, but fails, followed by a scuffle between Khatib and the guard, after which Khatib succeeds in shooting him, before fleeing. See for yourselves:
As is the Arab way in these parts, lying followed by proof to the contrary is followed by denial and more lying.
Ahmed’s father, Mahmoud, said that the security tapes were a fabrication, claiming that police had told him that evidence was still inconclusive. He blamed the security guards for his son’s death, but said that ultimate responsibility lay with the Israeli government.
Let me guess. What we really saw in the videotape was Khatib following the guards in order to show them his identity card, which he had previously left at home, and only grabbed the gun after he felt his life was threatened?
Also note that Khatib was an Arab with Israeli citizenship (and rights), and he left behind a pregnant wife and baby daughter.
Such is their hatred for us.
