Britney Spears’ mother feels responsible for her daughters bad predicament.

So she says as she flogs her new book.

Britney Spears’ mother has spoken of feeling responsible for her daughter’s problems.

“I blame myself,” Lynne Spears told ‘Life & Style Weekly’ magazine. “What mother wouldn’t?

Umm, a mother that had focused on instilling proper values in her children, instead of focusing on getting them into showbiz at all costs (just a guess).

“I wish I’d been there more while she was touring, But I couldn’t be. I had the other kids to look after.”

In other words, she does not regret having pushed Britney into the showbiz lifestyle. What she regrets is having not had the time to tour with her because of her pesky other kids.

Clearly, this is not a woman who is going to win Mother of the Year any time soon.

Spears, the mother of three children with ex-husband Jamie Spears, is writing a memoir about raising her family in the public eye.

‘Pop Culture Mom: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World’ is set for release on May 11.

“I didn’t raise my children to have Hollywood careers. This all just exploded in my face, and big dreams became big headaches,” says Spears, who recently reconciled with her 25-year-old pop singer-daughter after a period of estrangement.

I call bullsh*t on Mama Spears. With a mother like this, Britney never had a chance.
