US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told Voice of America that she would emphasize her country’s commitment to a two-state solution.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister-designate Binyamin Netanyahu has avoided supporting such an idea, reportedly telling Kadima leader Tzipi Livni:

“A final agreement will see the Palestinians having the full authority to run their lives. But do you want them to have control of the air space, their own army, the right for them to make alliances with other states like Iran, or control over borders that would allow for weapons imports? I won’t stand for it.”

Updates (Israel time; most recent at top)

10:15PM: Beware, the Zionist Death PigsTM are back, and as lethal as ever.

Dozens of pigs belonging to Israeli settlers attacked a Palestinian young man from the village of An-Nasarieyah, north of the West Bank city of Nablus, on Sunday.

Palestinian medical sources said that Ayman Ibrahim Hamdan, 25, was transferred to Rafidia Hospital in the city after being bitten by one of the pigs.

Hamadan told Ma’an that dozens of pigs unleashed by the Israeli settlers of the illegal settlement of Al-Hamra adjacent to the village had attacked him while he was in his farm in the village.

One of the pigs apparently bit him in the foot, causing injuries, and he was transferred to the hospital, where his condition was described as lightly injured.

10:02PM: Since my last update:

  • A couple more Qassams were fired into Israel, with one landing in the yard of a Sderot home. We’re still waiting for Olmert’s promised “painful response”
  • Olmert received a “painful response” of his own from the Attorney General, who informed him that he will be filing criminal charges against him, including fraud, breach of trust and receiving illicit perquisites
  • US Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Mike Mullen said Iran has obtained enough nuclear material to make a bomb

4:50PM: A Qassam landed in Israel earlier this afternoon.

Will our response be of the usual, lame “bomb a smuggling tunnel” variety? Olmert has already promised a ‘painful, uncompromising response’ to rocket fire. And it seems as though the rain is doing a good job destroying the tunnels. So perhaps we’ll see a different response..

4:15PM: A gag order has been lifted on details of the arrest of a 27-year-old Israeli Arab suspected of spying for Hizbullah.

12:50PM: UNRWA has apologized to the US for passing to US Senator John Kerry a letter from a Hamashole, and regrets any “awkwardness” the transmission of the letter may have caused.

As for supporting Hamas, they are unapologetic, claiming the incident does not detract from their neutrality.

11:33AM: Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has promised a ‘painful, uncompromising response’ to rocket fire from Gaza, saying that our response will not adhere “to the expectations of terrorists,” and include “a wide array of operations that can implemented “until quiet is restored to the South.”

Here’s an idea. How about responding instead of talking about it.

9:20AM: It’s snowing in Jerusalem and surrounding areas!

If you live anywhere where it’s snowing, feel free to send us your pictures.

9:18AM: More disturbing footage of George Galloway.

And he’s not alone. These are the views of the so-called “peace activists.”

9:02AM: Another slow news day at the blooper-prone Jerusalem Post (hat tip: Shy Guy).
