Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman outlined his vision for peace talks with the palestinians and Arab states, which includes this WYSIWYG approach:

“We all believe in all the tracks and are trying, contrary to previous governments, to put everything on the table. There are no tricks and games, or secret diplomacy. Things are very clear. You want to talk, ahlan u-sahlan [you are invited].”

Updates (Israel time; most recent at top)

8:38AM: The Jerusalem Post reports:

Only 6 percent of Jewish Israelis consider the views of American President Barack Obama’s administration pro-Israel, according to a new Jerusalem Post-sponsored Smith Research poll.

6:15AM: Last time we checked, palestinian children’s show character Farfur the mouse was dead, martyred at the hands of the evil Zionists.

AP

Veiled Palestinian women are greeted by people dressed as clowns, at a children’s celebration organized by Hamas, on the beach in Jebaliya, northern of Gaza Strip, Thursday, June 18, 2009.

We might just have another al Dura hoax on our hands..

6:00AM: According to the US State Department website, Jimmy Carter met with Near Eastern Affairs Bureau Deputy Assistant Secretary David Hale and National Security staff prior to his meeting with Hamas.

According to the palestinian Ma’an News agency, this “now confirms that there has been some official contact between Carter and the current US government vis-à-vis Middle East policy.”
