Hizbullah-‘s al-Manar television reported that Lebanese security forces discovered an Israeli internet server wired to antennae aimed in the direction of Israel, hidden in a small town in Lebanon’s Chouf District.

It is not yet clear whether this actually happened, or whether this is yet another piece of Hiz-bull.

Updates (Israel time; most recent at top)

9:06PM: Palestinians have followed up this morning’s Qassam attack with firing two mortar shells into Israel.

Two mortar shells fired by Gaza gunmen landed Sunday evening near the Erez Crossing just yards away from ambulances that were transferring a Palestinian heart patient to Israel for treatment.

Had the palestinian rockets actually hit the heart patient, I am sure they would accuse Israel of using him/her as a human shield.

7:14PM: Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has voiced harsh criticism against Israel’s 2005 unilateral evacuation from Gaza, saying we “will not repeat this mistake and create more evacuees.”

Again, he’s saying the right things, but last time I looked, this morning’s Qassam rocket attack had not elicited any kind of response from Israel. And given Netanyahu had promised to respond to each rocket, you can understand my skepticism.

5:58PM: A number of people have sent me links to posts by Jerry Gordon claiming that anti-Israel blogger Richard Silverstein (http://www.richardsilverstein.com/tikun_olam) has been “caught red-handed” leaving comments on his own blog to garner attention.

Kapo Dickie, a.k.a. Richard Silverstein, runs a pro-terror anti-Semitic pro-nazi blog, on which we have long suspected that he himself posts most of the letters there agreeing with himself. He uses such clever pseudonyms as “Witty Richard” and “Hasbara Buster.” Well, a few days he posted a lurid item on his blog claiming that the leaders of the pro-Israel Z Street were leaving nasty comments on his blog in response to his infantile rantings.

Here is what Dickie alleges:

“Is it any wonder that after I wrote my first post ridiculing Z Street that
this sort of garbage graced by spam filter:

We at Z Street are offering for sale Richard Silverstein’s
foreskin with his penis still attached. It is our way of saying thanks to all
those who support our now campaign against treason and self-hatred.”

Now there is only one little problem with this. The “Z Street” email address Dickie claims was used turns out to be located in Redmond, Washington! And guess who lives right there or very close to that! None other than Kapo Dickie himself!

So the world now has proof that Silverstein is simply inventing the personas who supposedly leave comments on his pathetic little blog, all to get himself some attention!

Jerry, this is hardly a smoking gun. Do you honestly believe that Silverstein would have posted the IP address knowing it was his own? He may be vile and morally reprehensible, but I doubt he is that stupid.I have mails from Silverstein, and they have come from a different IP address.

Furthermore, why is it inconceivable that somebody who lives nearby may oppose him?

I have made no secret of my dislike for Silverstein and his contempt for the truth, but this does not justify me lowering my own standards of proof.

5:12PM: An Iranian newspaper has published a report accusing Britain, the US, and Israel of instigating the deadly post-election riots, without describing Israel’s part.

Oh c’mon! We instigated the whole thing, and all we got was this crummy t-shirt byline?

Meanwhile, another Iranian paper did not give us a mention, preferring to blame Britain, France, and Germany.

12:48PM: Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak has reacted to the recent statements coming from Fatah – such as their willingness to return to terrorism if they do not get their way –  saying “The rhetoric coming from Fatah and the positions being expressed are grave and unacceptable to us.”

But not too grave and unacceptable, apparently:

“Still,” he said, “it must be understood that there is no solution in the Middle East other than a comprehensive [peace] deal, which includes us and the Palestinians.”

Ehud, there’s a Mr C. Dissonance on line 2…

10:16AM: Palestinians launched a Qassam rocket into Israel this morning.

Because they can, and because no-one gives a damn.

9:53AM: Yesterday, I referenced a Ma’an News article about Uri Davis, which referred to him as the “first Jewish member of the Fatah Revolutionary Council.”

This may not be entirely accurate, since Davis converted to Islam, a fact conveniently omitted by Ma’an and even Davis himself on his website.

And speaking of Davis’ website, see if you can keep track of all of his (ex) wives and children on his biography page over here.

8:18AM: What’s round, white, and deserves a good kicking?

Haniyeh soccer - AP

Meanwhile, just to show you the extent of the Middle East conflict..

Ma’an’s correspondent reported back that Haniyeh managed to score one goal, while Israeli newspapers insisted that the Hamas leader came close once, but that it was blocked.

We can’t agree on anything.
