Douche Loose With The Truth

With DouchebloggerTM Richard Silverstein enjoying the publicity (and money: http://www.richardsilverstein.com/tikun_olam/2011/11/15/support-tikun-olam-3/) his latest shoddy “reporting” has generated, it is important to keep reminding people that this is not someone you can rely on for accurate information.

I have been doing this for quite a while now, but I am glad others are joining in, such as Israellycool reader Yoel, who dug up some more lies from the Douche.

Received via mail:

Silverstein claims the following:

“Alex Fishman, following up on HIS powerful reporting on the potential for an Israeli attack on Iran, traveled to Washington to continue HIS reporting on the subject.”

But the one who reported on the so called “potential for an Israeli attack on Iran” was Nahum Barnea, not Alex Fishman.

Then he claims that

“The title of his [Alex Fishman’s] story, which is headlined on the newspaper’s front page is: The Israeli Threat.”

But the headline is “Concern in the  US: the IDF will attack in Iran”

Then he quotes the report as saying

“Articles about preparations by Netanyahu and Barak to take action against Iran frighten the Americans, frighten them a great deal.”

But such a quote is nowhere to be found in the report.

More over, although he uses the word “frighten” again again (as a means to show how frightning and war mongering Israel is) the actual word used in the report again and again is “concern” (the word “fear” is used once, by Fishman but not by the US official).

More fabricated quotes are:

“Publication of the report, Washington FEARS, is liable to encourage Israeli action against Iran: action which may not necessarily fit U.S. interests in the region.”

The actual quote is:

“The US is CONCERNED that the report may trigger Israeli actions against the Islamic Republic which may not necessarily be in line with US interests in the region.”

And:

“The FEAR of an Israeli attack on Iran is not just shared by those in the Israeli security establishment–BUT THROUGHOUT THE WORLD, and certainly in the U.S.–which is also FRIGHTENED of the possibility of such a strike, which is likely cause a big mess in the region.”

The actual quote is

“Many Israelis are concerned that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak decided on an attack on Iran’s nuclear reactors. The US is naturally also CONCERNED over such plans which may send the entire region into a whirlwind.”
