And anti-Israel publication +972 may just have helped him (hat tip: Benjamin Tudela).
But first, some background.
Joseph Dana is an anti-Israel writer and BDSHole, who has written for the likes of Electronic Intifada, Mondoweiss, and +972.
But it seems Dana has apparently “sold out” – by writing an EasyJet mag article promoting tourism & business in Israel (from p52-53).
A serious crime for a BDSHole to be sure, brought to our attention by Electronic Intifada’s Asa Winstanley.
Sad news: @ibnezra has sold out w/ this hideous EasyJet mag article promoting tourism & business in Israel (p. 53) http://t.co/WoJ0Hy6e1C

Winstanley is clearly devastated…and furious.
In an email to me @ibnezra justifies breaking #BDS — "I took the chance to get in a piece about Tel Aviv in a publication…" 1/2
— Asa Winstanley (@AsaWinstanley) September 30, 2013
"that I will be writing for from around the world… I have removed my personal website as part of an contract obligation" – @ibnezra 2/2
— Asa Winstanley (@AsaWinstanley) September 30, 2013
So in summary: who cares about all those Palestinians who helped me start my career. I decided to take the money and run: so what?
— Asa Winstanley (@AsaWinstanley) September 30, 2013
I find this all the hight of hypocrisy.
— Asa Winstanley (@AsaWinstanley) September 30, 2013
No one said you had to only write about Palestine, but at least don't write shitty PR pieces for Israeli tourism & business
— Asa Winstanley (@AsaWinstanley) September 30, 2013
@Alasil He wrote this, because he wanted a career in travel journalism http://t.co/WoJ0Hy6e1C
— Asa Winstanley (@AsaWinstanley) September 30, 2013
I am actually in shock that someone who once co-wrote articles w/ the excellent @MaxBlumenthal could write this dross http://t.co/WoJ0Hy6e1C
— Asa Winstanley (@AsaWinstanley) September 30, 2013
@LinahAlsaafin @RoadToPalestine @ANimer It is horrible for people who've worked with him. He spoke at @frankbarat22 & I's book launch!
— Asa Winstanley (@AsaWinstanley) September 30, 2013
@GarySpedding @Remroum & even @ibnezra addmitted to me " I understand your anger at this piece… it was not the best thing I have written"
— Asa Winstanley (@AsaWinstanley) September 30, 2013
Winstanley’s scorn extends to +972, which has clearly deleted any evidence of Dana’s articles there.
.@ibnezra – "I have asked to have my work hidden from 972 because I am travelling regularly to Beirut and I have had problems at the border"
— Asa Winstanley (@AsaWinstanley) September 30, 2013
“I worked tirelessly for years at 972 and never made a single pound” – @ibnezra denies shame at @972mag work, despite having it deleted — Asa Winstanley (@AsaWinstanley) September 30, 2013
I mean he wrote articles for us too, but I guess he thought better of asking us to delete — no way we would do that http://t.co/UdPO5DIF9E
— Asa Winstanley (@AsaWinstanley) September 30, 2013
His work on @Mondoweiss still up too: http://t.co/6Vyh6BtMa8 — shame on @972mag for agreeing to to delete @ibnezra‘s old work for career — Asa Winstanley (@AsaWinstanley) September 30, 2013
I think the decision of a BDS proponent to write a tourist piece on Israel, and the decision of a publication like +972 to enable him to pursue this career, constitutes another BDS fail.
Update: Dana responds via Twitter:
In less than 24 hours, I will be leaving Israel/Palestine after living here for seven years.
— joseph dana (@ibnezra) September 30, 2013
Despite having brought countless important stories about Palestine to light, I am now the subject of attack by certain segments of the left
— joseph dana (@ibnezra) September 30, 2013
This is because I have written a piece for East Jet about Tel Aviv #pt
— joseph dana (@ibnezra) September 30, 2013
My role here for the past number of years has been as a journalist and so I have done countless stories about Israel and Palestine.
— joseph dana (@ibnezra) September 30, 2013
The most recent attack has highlighted how difficult that role is in Israel/Palestine and this underlines one reason why I am relocating #pt
