Mika’s Roots Are Showing

I’ve always wondered about Mika Brzezinski. Does she hate Israel? Does she hate the Jews? Because, you see, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. And the first ever post I wrote for Israellycool begins with this: “It’s a poorly kept secret: former National Security Advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski hates Israel.”

I don’t watch MSNBC’S The Morning Joe here in Israel. But every once in a while someone shares a clip from the show as my Facebook friend Avraham Leibler did today. This time, former GOP representative Joe Scarborough and his co-host Mika Brzezinski were discussing Boehner’s invitation to Benyamin Netanyahu to address Congress. Nicolle Wallace, an MSNBC political analyst was also sitting in on the discussion.

Now here’s how I feel about the whole dustup regarding Boehner’s invitation: the President is TERRIFIED that Bibi will actually get up and address Congress. President Obama realizes that Bibi is no longer asking, “How high?” when the President says, “Jump!” Netanyahu is going to go through with this, something that Obama must prevent at all costs.

Barry’s Freaking Out

If this were not the case, the President and his cabinet would not be freaking out. And that’s exactly what they are doing: freaking out. We already know that Boehner probably did not breach protocol. We know that Boehner did indeed notify the White House of his intention to invite the Israeli Prime Minister and subsequently acting on the assumption that the White House would ignore the notification and fail to respond (as is usual for the Obama White House) went ahead and extended the invitation to Netanyahu.

We also know that the President’s claim that Bibi’s appearance would tend to prejudice Israel’s upcoming election is disingenuous in the extreme in light of the fact that Joe Biden and John Kerry met with Bibi’s main opponent in this election, Isaac Herzog, TWO DAYS AGO.

President Obama wants Iran to get what it wants. He wants Iran to be happy. He thinks that if Iran is happy, the world will be a happier place. And of course, what Iran wants is to wipe Israel off the face of the earth with a nuclear bomb or two or three.

That’s why the President doesn’t DARE let Bibi talk to Congress. That speech would threaten Iran’s happiness by persuading Congress of the crucial need to put a stop to Iran’s nuclear lust and its lust to kill the Jews. Because when Bibi talks, EVERYONE listens.

Look Ma! No Teleprompters!

I saw Bibi in person. The man has charisma. And oh boy can he talk. No teleprompters for Bibi.

So back to The Morning Joe, and Mika B. Is she a chip off the old Zbig block?

Oh yes. Absolutely. No doubt about it. Watch and see.

Luckily, Joe Scarborough is in excellent “Come At Me Bro” form. He’s got the stones to say the truth and he isn’t going to let Mika B. cut him off while he’s saying it.  Hint: the end is priceless. He begs Democrats to boycott Bibi’s speech. I love it.

Morning Joe

Here is the transcript:

Joe Scarborough: Then I don’t think that anybody in the United States of America is in a position to judge a prime minister of that country or people in that country.

Mika Brzezinski: No one’s judging him.

Joe Scarborough: For coming to the United States and explaining to the world. You have a president that is allowing the Iranians to roll over him and run over him in negotiations

Mika Brzezinski: You guys are good at what you do. You and you (gestures to Joe  and then Nicolle).

Joe Scarborough: No, no, no. I’m not trying to be good at what I do.

Nicolle Wallace: I can’t believe it. When the Israelis. . .

Mika Brzezinski: No, Joe , come on. A couple of days ago you said it was a bad call on Boehner’s part to invite him and you know it was.

Nicolle Wallace: and when every world leader walks in the street arm in arm with the Israeli prime minister and America’s not there you tell me we’re not at a low point in US [unintelligible]. It’s pathetic, it’s embarrassing.

Joe Scarborough: There is a lack of leadership in the white house. Like Nicolle said, the President can’t even call radical Islamic terrorism radical Islamic terrorism. He doesn’t show up in Paris. He says ISIS is a JV team. Time and time again he has. . .

Nicolle Wallace: He’s talking about the Crusades, I mean. . .

Joe Scarborough: And, and, last week instead of talking about ISIS’ evil he has to bring up the Crusades! To go back 800 years. If I’m Israel, and by the way, I’ve said this when Republican presidents were in the White House and when Democratic presidents were in the White House. I wouldn’t listen to presidents who are constantly looking [unintelligible] up Nobel Prizes when their very existence is at stake and on the line. So I wouldn’t be quite so smug about mocking somebody as Jews are being gunned down in the streets of Paris and being attacked across Europe.

Mika Brzezinski: I wouldn’t use THAT to evade the question and the question is: do you think that it was a good call on Boehner’s part to invite him?

Joe Scarborough: The more this president shows his hand, umm, on what he thinks about Middle East politics, and the more chaos we have in the world, the more I think yes it was—that Benjamin Netanyahu, the people of Israel, and Jews across the globe, need to know that there’s at least one country, ONE COUNTRY, that understands what they are going through, the anti-Semitism they face every day, and, and in fact that there is a country that his promise is to get a nuclear bomb and wipe Israel off the face of the earth that right now is negotiating with the United States to get that weapon that would allow them to wipe Israel off the face of the earth. I know there are a lot of people out there who hate Jews. Go ahead, tweet me.

Mika Brzezinski: That’s just not. . .

Joe Scarborough: I know you hate Jews. I know you’re anti-Semitic.

Mika Brzezinski: That’s just low-hanging fruit.

Joe Scarborough: No. It’s not low-hanging fruit if you can’t go to a kosher deli in Paris, France without being gunned down. If you don’t face anti-Semitic attacks in England. If you can’t see your KIDS . . . if you can’t send your kids to nursery school without them being shot dead

Mika Brzezinski: You, you…

Joe Scarborough: then go ahead, be smug about it

Mika Brzezinski: I’m not being smug. I can’t talk!

Joe Scarborough: You don’t understand what Jews are going through. And you go ahead. And you go ahead and be smug.

Mika Brzezinski: I’m not. I think that you are evading the question and it was a question that you answered last week.

Joe Scarborough: I can’t be any more blunt about it. I think… I think…

Mika Brzezinski: Okay. I think there should be a boycott on the part of Democrats.

Nicolle Wallace: I think Boehner is a hero for inviting him.

Joe Scarborough: Let me just say to Democrats out there? I would love you politically as a Republican to boycott this. Please boycott it. Please stay away. Do Republicans, I mean, do their job for ‘em and show that you’re not on the side of Israel and show that you’re not on the side of Jews being attacked worldwide. Please. Boycott it. You’ll be doing Republicans a favor.
