Israel Causes Boilover In World Baseball Classic And I Find Myself Caring

Today, Israel defeated Korea in the World Baseball Classic. And I actually care, despite the fact I know little about baseball and think it looks like a poor substitute for cricket.

Here are a few reasons I find myself caring.
ESPN described Team Israel as “essentially the Mighty Ducks, Hickory High and the Jamaican bobsled team all rolled into one”
That sounds freakin’ awesome!
The team’s mascot is a mensch on a bench, a human sized doll with a rabbi’s hat and Hannukah candle
That’s freakin’ awesome!
Team Israel did this

Damn dust in my eyes again.
So I find myself a baseball fan, at least for the time being.
