Know Your History: Muslim Snipers From Temple Mount (NY Times Oct 20, 1938)

series where I bring to you news from the archives and historical documents to debunk common misconceptions about the Middle East conflict.

The tensions we are seeing with the Temple Mount are not new. One such example of an earlier example is from 1938, where Muslim snipers used the so-called sanctity of “Haram esh-Sharif” to shoot at Jews.

The New York Times covered it, and as usual a look at their reporting of the time is illuminating.
