Last week, the media reported about a supposed “settler” hate crime.
The haters clearly blamed it on the Jooooos. The Israeli media insinuated it was.
Residents of the Jerusalem neighborhood of Pisgat Ze’ev reported Thursday that the tires of 27 cars were slashed and Hebrew slogans graffitied on an adjacent wall in the latest in a sting of apparent hate crimes targeting Palestinians and Arab Israelis.
The phrases “death to murderers” and “we will not sleep while God’s name is being desecrated” were found spray-painted at the scene bordering the Arab neighborhood of Bait Hanina.
Here’s a photo that was included in the reports:
An analysis of the Hebrew reveals the perpetrator cannot spell in Hebrew.
This means “sleep” (plural), except it is supposed to be spelled “ישנים’
This means “its name” – it should be spelled “ששמו” (His name)
It could also be “ששם ה” (G-d’s name) except there is no space where there should be.
Hebrew speakers, feel free to confirm what I am saying.
This Hebrew graffiti was either written by:
- Someone who does not know Hebrew
- A Hebrew-speaking kid
Either way, it is highly unlikely this graffiti was created by an adult Jew.
Which begs the question: Why is it that a simple blogger like me points this out, rather than the Israeli media?
