Some of the ‘Authentic’ Palestinian Dishes Served by Australian Palestinian Restaurant

Australia’s SBS has a story about the man who “gave up a dentistry career to introduce Australia to authentic Palestinian knafeh.”

A look at the restaurant’s menu shows the owner is not averse to getting political, as the depiction of palestinian cartoon character Handala indicates. But it also shows he is not averse to offering up some other palestinian delicacies – like those old classics ‘chips’ and ‘schnitzel ‘n’ chips.’

You get my point (again). Those who accuse us of cultural appropriation because we serve up variations of food from the Levant are serving up their own variations of food originating from other places in the world.

E’knafeh is e’knaf!
