You better be careful with your computer. I take computer security and privacy fairly seriously. And for the record… I don’t cheat and yes, my recent trip to Canada and New York do show up on my map.
So the revelations today that the iPhone records a complete history of everywhere you take it in an unencrypted file that is trivially easy to pull off the computer that you sync your phone to are a bit of a worry.
That’s eveywhere I’ve been in Israel since I got the iPhone (version 3, now upgraded to 4 but the tracking information survived the upgrade).
My phone even “remembers” that it didn’t travel to Ashdod (because I left it in the car at the train station by mistake).
Just something to keep in mind if you carry one these things.
