Oh Look More Israel Hatred

File this under surprised not surprised. Two left leaning Israelis visited Finland a few days ago and were somewhat surprised by what is going on in Europe:

I have two friends from Israel visiting us. Both are true socialists, atheists and feminists. Today they saw the Pride march in Helsinki and sent me these pictures. They were surprised of the mental condition of European socialists.

From Tundra Tabloids, here’s what made them “surprised of the mental condition of European socialists”.

Unfortunately the little bit of Finnish on one of the signs is every bit as rude about Israel as the English on the others.

It certainly looks like a happy and positive celebration of “love”.

  1. One detail: I have been in Finland several times, and it’s a country I really like. It’s usually simple people (and I’m using the positive meaning of the word, as a friend told once, finish are basically town people), and far from modern trends. It’s quite a nationalist and traditional country.

Sometimes you’ll find more foreign people in this kind of stuff than real finish ones.

For example, in the first pic, the first girl at the left is clearly finish. The rest of the people in the pic could be… or could be not. And some of them, like the girl in the center with the board “stop pink washing”, don’t look finish at all.

  2. There is a strange mentality at play, that by virtue of one’s sexuality or perceived gender, these people perceive themselves to have a bond with other minority groups. That and having too much time on their hands I guess.

    1. I understand the empathy that any group who finds themselves oppressed by the majority has for one another. What’s so disheartening for me is to watch people campaign for people that would like to see them all dead; as opposed to campaigning for the group.. the ONLY group in the region about which they’re so “concerned” that protects their rights. It’s a cognitive disconnect that astounds me.

It also tells me we are FAILING with the Hasbarah. Badly. Not that that’s “news”.

  3. I’m not sure who is even “gay” any more. Many obese women (for example) call themselves “queer” because it’s a way of saving-face, instead if dealing with the fact that–because of their obese lifestyle choices–they have no sexual capital with normal people.
