    Dave,

Normally these are just a bit of fun but…. Freddie Mercury was a Zoroastrian who’s descendents were either slaughtered or driven out of their home in Persia. They were then persecuted in India when the Islamic Jihad came there eventually. If any other people can be said to have suffered at the hands of Mohammedans more than the Jews, it is Zoroastrians. Putting these two sided by side is like finding a picture of a Jew that looks somewhat like a Nazi storm-trooper: not in the best taste.

    Brian,

You have to be kidding me, right? For the most part, the Separated at Birth series does not draw actual comparisons between the people involved except for physical similarities.

Here’s how it works: I see a picture of absolutely anyone and if it reminds me of someone else, I post the Separated at Birth. I am not thinking of the natures of the people – except in rare cases (e.g. the Assad/Hitler series). In any event, I had no idea about Freddie’s background.

I understand that you are personally offended by the post, but I still do not think it was offensive.

Does this mean I shouldn’t say that the Pally looks like Seinfeld with a beard and a bandana?

Personally offended is a bit strong, I’m somewhere between slightly interested and not really amused. I would say I’m about 25,000 miles from burning a flag and 250,000 miles from burning down anyone’s embassy :-)

If I have managed to attach to your post the fact that Freddie was a Zoroastrian, an ancient people (pre-dating Abraham in all likelihood), and that this once proud race held most of Persia until they were decimated by Islamic Jihad then I’ve achieved my goal. Most remaining Zoroastrians live in India where they fled when they were exiled from Persia. Unfortunately the Jihad followed them there and because they didn’t even qualify for the status of “people of the book”, like Hindus they were persecuted mercilessly by Muslims.

Anyway, I wasn’t really call for censorship, I just wanted to point out what a random new reader who stumbled on the site might think.

Well thanks for the concern, and also for educating us all about Zoroastrians. I know I, for one, learned something new.
