Hamas and Hezbollah’s Legitimate Claims

Just for any Israellycool readers in the US and in a position to ask Obama any specifics about his “support” for Israel and the Jews in general. Exactly which points of the Hamas Charter represent legitimate claims?

Obama Admires Bush – New York Times
The U.S. needs a foreign policy that “looks at the root causes of problems and dangers.” Obama compared Hezbollah to Hamas. Both need to be compelled to understand that “they’re going down a blind alley with violence that weakens their legitimate claims.” He knows these movements aren’t going away anytime soon “Those missiles aren’t going to dissolve”, but “if they decide to shift, we’re going to recognize that. That’s an evolution that should be recognized.”

I hear frequent mention of the "Hamas Charter". Where can one review it online?

    Try http://www.mideastweb.org/hamas.htm“target=”_blank”>here.

This is scary. Doesn't Obama understand that these are *terror* organizations?? Hasn't he read the Hamas charter?? Terror organizations are designated as such BECAUSE they have NO legitimate claims and are reduced to attempting to achieve their goals through TERROR. The guy has no cajones and will deal with evil the same way Neville Chamberlin did– by getting pieces of paper which mean nothing. sheesh.

It's actually called "Hamas Covenant". It's disgusting. The Federation of American Scientists has a copy on their website: http://www.fas.org/irp/world/para/docs/880818a.ht...” target=”_blank”>” target=”_blank”>http://www.fas.org/irp/world/para/docs/880818a.ht...

Obama is the junior senator from my state. He was raised as a Muslim and schooled in Indonesia. Believe me, he knows who and what Hamas and Hezbollah are. He's trying to appease those of us who do support Israel, but he's talking out of both sides of his mouth.

  7. Peter Reaper says:

Trish: Why should we "trust" you? Just because you live in the same state as Obama?

  8. MsMissive says:

The whole "Obama is a Muslim" thing was debunked a long time ago. Are we ever going to move on from this argument? As for appeasement of voters, don't you think that's the middle name of ANY politician?

  9. Lynne T says:

Why would the Federation of American Scientists post the Hamas Charter on its website?

  10. Trish says:

You can't debunk the truth. Obama admits that he was raised as a Muslim. He's not ashamed of it. It is important to know how a candidate stands on the issues, not merely where he says he stands.

  11. Trish says:

I didn't say "trust." I said believe. Don't believe me if you don't want to. Because Obama is the junior senator from my state, I've been observing him since he first came into the public spotlight. He is not a supporter of Israel.

  12. MsMissive says:

Both candidates support Israel without question. What proof do you have the either Obama or McCain would turn their backs on her?

  13. Trish says:

According to Obama's campaign booklet, he wants a Palestinian state "side-by-side" with Israel. How is that supporting Israel without question?

  14. MsMissive says:

Would you rather his campaign booklet say "supports the eradication of the Palestinians"? I think most politicians will agree that the Palestinians need to learn to function as a state peacefully next to Israel… just as was originally envisioned. And what exactly does the McCain campaign booklet say?

  15. Trish says:

Not his campaign booklet, but his actions: McCain co-sponsored a Senate bill voicing opposition to the establishment of a Palestinian state.
