Are We Finally Seeing Palestinians Protest Against Their Terrorists?

In this photo taken March 11, 2010, Palestinians hold posters with a picture of Palestinian militant Dalal Mughrabi during a protest in the West Bank city of Ramallah. A Palestinian plan to rename a major square after Dalal Mughrabi, a female militant who killed dozens of civilians in a notorious 1978 bus hijacking in Israel has turned into a new stumbling block for relaunching Mideast peace talks. You could be forgiven for thinking these protesters are demonstrating against the plan to rename the square after Mughrabi. After all, I’ve purposely left off the last line of the caption.

Text on banner reads in Arabic: “We owe our blood to you and the debt is a right that cannot be postponed”.

Yes, they are protesting the PA’s decision to postpone the plan.

A plan to honor someone who helped murder of 38 Israelis, including 13 children.

Pray tell, how do these people deserve a state carved out of my homeland?

    Good fodder. Thanks as always.

Dave, there is much more moral value in criticizing the acts committed by the state in which you live than there is in criticizing the crimes of others. As an Israeli you share responsibility for the crimes Israel commits, not for the crimes of the Palestinians. So the Palestinians want to name a street after a killer of Israelis – so what? How many streets in the US are named after war criminals who have killed far more people (not to mention have destroyed entire regions)? What does it really matter? Focus on the crimes that you can prevent and the crimes in which you share responsibility for as an Israeli instead of attacking the crimes of others in which you cannot influence.

You are lecturing me on "moral value" in the same breath as saying "So the Palestinians want to name a street after a killer of Israelis – so what?" Now that's funny!

Sorry, but I will continue to point out the palestinian's moral depravity and educate people as to why morality dictates supporting Israel and not them.

What the heck are you talking about?

      • juvanya ג׳ווניע says:

        She's probably talking about Dresden.

        • Michael Zvi Krumbein says:

I could think of lots of things. At any rate, both Dresdan and Hiroshima were military targets. The Russians asked us to bomb Dresden, in fact. Not that I will shed many tears for the people who elected Hitler.

Let's just stick with Israel, and consider A.Sharon, M.Begin, and Y. Shamir. Sharon was globally shamed from the Israeli cabinet and held responsible in the Hague for the massacre in the Sabra & Shatilla Palestinian refugee camps in Beirut. Shamir & Begin were founding members of Irgun & Haganah, groups recognized by the U.N. ('46-'48) as "terrorist organizations". All three of these 'gentlemen' were honored as war heroes and elected Israeli Prime Ministers as such.

Julia, I too, am puzzled by your post. I am very much in favor of a two-state solution and have crossed swords with many people who participate on Dave's blog on all sorts of things. But your willingness to give the Palestinians a complete pass on honoring terrorist suicide bombers by naming a square after them is puzzling. I know some on the left believe George Washington is somehow a war criminal and they want to remove his name from everything (the rationale for this at the moment escapes me, maybe because he owned slaves?) I hope you are not one of these people.

Please note that the AP used "militant".

Another naive ignorant ndividual that doesnt or doesnt want to understand the true nature of the conflict and the fact the Jewish eople have been trying to get back to their natioon every since the romans dispursed then through out the roman empire because of their resistance to roms conquest and Harods complete rollover to the romans.
Whats worse Maam is your allegation of crimes. when is it a crime to defend oneself. it isnt. Arabs have kept Israel in a perpetual state of war for 60 yrs as they desire to slaughter all jews IN THE JEWISH HOMELAND. IT NEVER WAS A PLACE FOR mUZZIES EXCEPT FOR mUHAMMOUDS DESIRE TO BE A JEW why do u think he build a mosque on the temple site. It is because it is the most holy place in the world and the Arabs coveted it. WHAT IN GOD'S NAME IS THE MATTER WITH YOU GIRL? QUIT WORYING ABOUT THE Arabs that are in a plight because of themselves. They brought about the situation the Arabs are in not ISrael. Plese learn a little going back to the 17 or 1100's even to gain the significance of Israel and why the Arabs covet it so much. They covet what isnt theirs. have u read the 10 commandants? Where is thou shann not covet.
