Tunisian Tennis Player Actually Competes Against Israel’s Dudi Sela

History was made as Tunisian tennis player Malek Jaziri actually played Israeli Dudi Sela.

Yeah, I know. The bar of “history being made” has been set rather low, but we already know what normally happens when an athlete from a country that hates Israel is supposed to compete against an Israeli.

And that is exactly what happened back in 2013, when Jaziri was ordered by the Tunisia tennis federation to withdraw from a tournament in Tashkent rather than face Israel’s Amir Weintraub. That got Tunisia’s ass banned from the Davis Cup by the International Tennis Federation (ITF).

But that did not happen here, and dare I say it, the handshake at the end actually seemed warm. Islam El Shehaby, take note.
