The Jerusalem Post reports:
A notorious far-right attorney cursed the German legal system and called the Holocaust a lie at the opening of his trial on charges of incitement in a Berlin state court on Friday.
Horst Mahler, a former leader of the far-right National Democratic Party, and two other men are charged with circulating anti-Semitic and xenophobic pamphlets on the Internet in October 2000.
Mahler is also charged with circulating other pamphlets at the party headquarters in 2002 that referred to anti-Semitism as “perfectly normal and a sign of solid mental health.”
Ironic words, considering that a look into Horst Mahler’s past shows little evidence of “solid mental health.” Here are some interesting facts about Mahler.
1. He was a former left-wing radical who has now become a neo-fascist.
2. He was a member of the infamous German terrorist group the Baader-Meinhof Gang.
3. He fled to Jordan with fellow Baader-Meinhof Gang members, where he trained as an armed guerrilla fighter with the PLO Arabs.
4. He served time in jail.
5. German chancellor Gerhard Schroeder acted as Mahler’s legal counsel in 1978 and helped him gain re-admission as a lawyer in 1988.
It is clear that Mahler is not just a “far-right attorney” as the Jerusalem Post states, but rather a far-left terrorist-turned neo-nazi. Even though it would seem that he has undergone a major ideological transformation over the years, he has been consistent in his hatred of Jews.
