While the Syrian government claim that they want peace with Israel, they continue propogating the vilest anti-Semitism in their official daily paper, as these items from Memri illustrate:

Notice how they state that the media is “controlled by Zionism.” Surely, this supports the contention that Zionism is being used as a euphemism for “Jews”, and that anti-Zionism is in many cases a cloaked manifestation of anti-Semitism.
