Fresh from their tirade against Jews, Israel and the US, the Call of Islam have published an interview with Dr Abdel Aziz Al Rantisi, the Hamas terrorist who was almost put into the fertilizer business by an Israeli helicopter gunship.
As expected, Rantisi lives up to his name, with ranting coming easily to him.
But for me, the interview highlights a number of important points about terrorist groups like Hamas, as well as about some Australian Muslims.
1. Call of Islam fully supports terrorism, as opposed to peace negotiations.
Mere publication of such an interview, which introduces Rantisi as “the spokesperson of the Palestinian resistance” is proof enough. But check out the questions posed to him. Here’s a sample:
How do you interpret the cowardly assassination attempt on your life? As Muslims, we view the events in the blessed land of Palestine as an ongoing struggle between Truth and falsehood. Does Hamas share the view of some secular Palestinian factions that the aim of the struggle is to take back the territories that were occupied in 1967? The US has been leading the efforts to eradicate the Islamic movements in recent times, especially in Palestine, and has named Hamas in particular. What is the ideal strategy to counter this campaign? The US-made ëRoad Mapí with international capping, was imposed upon the Palestinian side. How can Hamas overcome this conspiracy? What are the main challenges for the blessed Intifada?
2. Call of Islam is an anti-Semitic publication.
And if you say it is “merely anti-Zionist”, explain this question:
How can the Intifada survive in light of the truce with the occupying enemy, especially considering the known Zionist cunning and deception for this nation since the time of our Prophet Muhammad (saw)?
I didn’t realize that the modern state of Israel had been around since the time of Muhammad. So replace the word “Zionist” with “Jewish”, which is exactly what is meant here.
3. The terrorist organizations themselves are anti-Semitic, and not “merely anti-Zionist.”
Here is what Rantisi has to say about Jews.
Firstly, this is the custom of the Jews, for they are the killers of prophets, and the killers of the preachers who enjoin justice. Their criminal nature will never change.

The Jews have designs and ambitions in Palestine and in surrounding countries, and they utilize terrorism to materialise their plans and accomplish their ‘holy’ prophecies.
4. Contrary to Jenny Tonge’s assertion, the terrorist organizations do not recognize Israel’s right to exist, and will not stop their terror until they capture all of Israel.
Here is what Rantisi had to say when asked whether Hamas shares the view that the aim of the struggle is to take back the territories that were “occupied in 1967”.
As for us in Hamas, our charter states Palestine is a Muslim land that falls under the category of ‘Waqf’ in Islamic Law. Hence no leader, group, people or any generation is permitted to surrender a single hand-span of it to a non-Muslim. This is why we do not recognise the sovereignty of Jews on a hand-span of our country.
From here we can see that the battle will continue because in true reality it is a battle for our own existence and is not a battle over borders. This battle will end with a triumph that Allah (swt) will bestow upon His believing servants, and we shall regain every hand-span of our country (encompassing all land) between its sea-borders (in the west) to its river (in the east).
Also note the religious overtones of his words. He clearly views it as part of a “clash of civilizations.” Poverty and despair, the buzzwords of the Left, are not even mentioned.
5. A portion of Australia’s Muslims may already be aiding the terrorists.
Rantisi is thanking them for something.
We also request from the Muslim community in Australia, in addition to their commendable efforts, that they do not forget us from their Duía (supplication) to Allah, because we are in need for the Duía of the righteous Inshaallah. We also wish to extend to you our deep greetings and regards.
I do not pretend to know what percentage of Australia’s Muslims believe this garbage, and I am loathe to paint them all with the same brush. But if the Call of Islam is indeed “Australia’s leading Islamic periodical” as claimed, then there is reason to be worried.
