Outing the Jews

Tim Blair posts about an article by activist Kalle Lasn, in which Lasn points out that half of the 50 most influential neocons are Jewish. Lasn laments:

Drawing attention to the Jewishness of the neocons is a tricky game. Anyone who does so can count on automatically being smeared as an anti-Semite.

As Michael Totten says so eloquently:

He says heís not anti-Semitic, and he very well may not be, at least not consciously. The thing is, he doesnít need to be. Whether or not heís the type of guy who lays awake in the middle of the night fretting about Joooooooos, or whether heís just a left-wing hack with a kooky axe to grind, the fact remains that heís repeating the ZOG propaganda of white supremacists.

I do not have too much to add to this, except a few of my own thoughts:

  • Do you notice how so many left-wingers are complaining that they are being “smeared as an anti-Semite”, yet they have absolutely no problem smearing semites themselves?
  • How many left-wingers are more than willing to point out the “Jewishness” of people they disagree with, yet make no mention of the Jewishness of people who support the anti-war/anti-Israel cause? For instance, one of the most vehement critics of US policy in the Middle East is the despicable Noam Chomsky, who happens to be Jewish.
  • It is ironic that the Left imply that the Bush administration is a group of mindless individuals who blindly follow a group of powerful people, without thinking for themselves. Sounds more like the Left to me.
  • While Lasn is quick to point out that approximately 50% of the most influential neocons are Jewish, I would suggest that he may be more reluctant to point out that almost 100% of terrorist attacks in the world today are perpetrated by Muslims.
