Those who wish to silence our voices have accused the ISM of “harboring and protecting terrorists.” The problem is that Israel’s tactic has been to make every Palestinian man, woman and child out to be a suspected “terrorist.” It is the Israeli governmentís justification for the brutal force it has been using against a largely unarmed population. It is the rationale for using wide forms of collective punishment, for keeping Palestinians locked up in their towns and villages, and for stripping a people of their human rights. The ISM supports Palestinian communities in protesting collective punishments such as checkpoints, roadblocks, massive round-ups, curfews and home demolitions, and encourages popular nonviolent actions against them. For this reason, we are accused of “protecting terrorists.”
And now..presenting the truth:
A Palestinian opened fire at IDF forces during a demonstration against the security barrier near the village of Dir Kadis in the Modi’in area. No injuries were reported in the shooting.
The armed Palestinian, who fired from within the crowd, escaped in the direction of the nearby village. IDF forces are currently searching for him in the area.
