Say hello to my new company car – the Ford Focus.
I just received it yesterday, after quite a long waiting period, and, at the risk of sounding cliched, it was worth the wait.
Driving as much as I do every day (140 km in total, one hour each way), having a safe car is of paramount importance. Especially considering how people here drive like lunatics. And the Focus is safe. Not only that, but it commands a certain amount of respect on the road since it is not a small car. It also doesn’t hurt that the Focus drives like a dream.
On the downside, there are a few peculiarities with the Focus, such as the fact that the bonnet and petrol tank cannot be opened from inside the car. Instead, you have to alight from the vehicle, and open them with your key. However, these are minor annoyances (which I am already used to with my Citroen)
I was at first reticent to choose a Focus, since there are so many of them on the road. In fact, I would suggest that they are one of the most common cars here in Israel. However, now I am beginning to see that this is a good thing. It is a testament to the Focus’ popularity and reliability.
Therefore, if you are in the market for a new car, I can highly recommend the Focus. But then again, what could possibly go wrong in one day? Ask me in a half a year.
