It’s in the Game

What will they think of next?

A video game company hopes to cash in on the publicity surrounding Sen. John Kerry’s Vietnam service by sending players on a simulation of the Swift Boat mission that won the Democratic presidential candidate the Silver Star.

Playing as a square-jawed, machine-gun-toting Lt. John Kerry, gamers lead a team of U.S. Navy swift boats up the Mekong Delta to secure the shore while facing fire from Viet Cong in the nearby brush. Players are able to drive the boat and can jump ashore to chase and battle enemy soldiers.

Meanwhile, coming soon to a video game store near you: Need for Speed: Gaddafi in France

French Police chased a son of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi down the Champs Elysees in Paris after he sped through traffic lights and were involved in a scuffle with his bodyguards, a police spokesman said on Monday.

The police stopped Hannibal Gaddafi in his sports car on Saturday after he sped down the tree-lined boulevard in central Paris at more than 100 km per hour (62 mph). A policeman was then punched in the scuffle that followed, the spokesman said.

His name is Hannibal? Kind of sounds appropriate.
