Israeli intelligence agents surfing the internet have warned that terrorists are planning a future attack on Australia.The warning was revealed at a high-level secret intelligence briefing in Istanbul, Turkey, last month, attended by intelligence experts, police, academics and ministers from nine countries, including Israel’s public security minister, Gideon Ezra.The meeting was of special significance for Israel, which has agreements with Turkey to share intelligence and military training and to co-operate in the fight against terrorism.Dr Mark Craig, a graduate of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation national academy and specialist in terrorism and organised crime, was the sole Australian at the Istanbul meeting.He told the AJN this week that it was there he learned that Israeli agents were monitoring the internet and listening to terrorists speaking on Arab-language chat rooms.
Given the likelihood of terrorists in Australia, I fear that it is only a matter of time. G-d, I hope I’m wrong.
