Still on the Subject of Artefacts…

From AFP:

A man bearing more than a passing resemblance to wrinkly rocker Mick Jagger was treated like a king by a New York nightspot, and spent some quality time with three new female friends, before bar owners realised they had been had.

The faux Mick story surfaced in The New York Post, with a photo that the man posing as the Rolling Stones frontman let someone snap of him at the dance spot Spirit, in hip Chelsea, claiming he had just flown in on a private jet after a concert in Ohio.

The club showered him with VIP treatment, including free drinks and a bodyguard.

“After about an hour and a half of partying with what became a large crowd, the fake Mick told the security guard that he was becoming overwhelmed by the crowd and the cameras… and needed to leave”, Spirit spokeswoman Claire O’Connor said.

But before he left, the fake Jagger – said to be a shade heavier and a few years younger than the real deal – spent 10 minutes in the club’s restroom with three female “fans”, the Post report said.

A spokesman for the real rocker said Jagger was not in New York that night.

[insert corny Satisfaction punchline here]
