I have just signed on with my blog host for another year, in order to take advantage of a special deal. Although I have been toying with the idea of switching to another blog software, my initial investigations indicated that there would be a lot of work on my part in order to switch, and even after the transfer, I would have to implement a lot of the technical things myself. Quite frankly, I do not have the time – especially considering that I do not want to give up on my podcast.
In addition, it became clear that I would probably lose all of the old comments if I transferred, and possibly also my permalinks, rendering many of my current posts meaningless. So for now I am staying put.
Why am I boring you all with this? Well, I am paying a fair bit of money for this, money well spent since the handling of technical issues from the host’s side really frees up my time and allows me to blog as much as I do. I believe (and hope) that despite the sometimes irreverent nature of this blog, the underlying message is a serious and important one, and one that I want to continue to disseminate to as many people as possible.
