Bring Out the Candlelight Photos

While palestinians in Gaza complain about electricity cuts and the disrupted supply of goods resulting from Hamas terrorism against Israel, their brothers in Bethlehem have decided to cut their own electricity and disrupt their own supply of goods.

Two thousand workers in the Beit Fajjar Stone factories staged aggressive strike action south of Bethlehem on Saturday and 1,000 participated Sunday, calling for better wages and regular pay, as well as strict adherence to the Palestinian Labor Law.

Workers erected barriers around the factories, preventing trucks from delivering supplies or exporting stone products. Large numbers of strikers were posted around the several compounds to prevent the use of alternative entry or exit points. Some said the electricity in some factories was also cut off.

Head of the union estimated losses for the factory from the two days of strike at 1 million US dollars.

We shouldn’t be surprised. They have a history of punishing themselves as a form of protest.

Of course, I’m sure they’ll find some way to blame this on Israel as well.
