My Goat

Just a couple of things that get my goat.

1. Mails by other bloggers saying how much they love my blog and how wonderful it is, followed by “and if you add my blog to your blogroll, I’ll add yours.” Color me cynical, but if you love my blog so much, it’s inclusion on your blogroll would not be contingent on inclusion on mine.

I am always willing to add blogs to my blogroll as a gesture of reciprocity, but never respond well to what I call “blogroll blackmail.”

2. People contacting me asking if I would like a review copy of a book and my contact details if the answer is in the affirmative, who then do not follow up and send the book. I have noticed a number of other bloggers reviewing books I was asked to review quite a while ago, but for which I have not received a copy. I pride myself on being quick off the mark when it comes to stories and features on this blog. I am not so interested in posting a review of a book that has already had countless reviews posted.

3. Goat thieves. Hands off my goat!
