A massive, raging fire in northern Israel.

Over 20,000 dunams of land consumed.

Over 13,000 people evacuated.

41 people dead (so far).

Ironically, this is occurring during the Jewish festival of Chanukah, a joyous time on which we commemorate the miracles of our victory over the Syrian-Greeks and a one-day supply of oil burning for eight days.

Made even more ironic due to the fact Greece was the first country to respond to our current cry for help.

I’m sure there is a message in there somewhere, but I’m not quite sure what it is.

Update: I will be posting links here to sites from where you can donate to help those affected by this tragedy. Please add any more links of which you are aware in the comments to this post.

Update: Since I do not have the time to post regular updates (besides, my computer seems to be on the blink), I am posting this Twitter widget for you to follow the latest updates from the safety of this post:

Update: Unbelievably vivid photos from the fire.
