Yesterday’s Everyone’s Jewish post reminds me of a story a friend told me, which I think you may get a kick out of.
My friend was a promoter, and as such had “connections”, one of whom was a journalist. The journalist was about to interview Mike Myers of Shrek and Austin Powers fame. When my friend found out about this, he requested that the journalist ask Mike Myers the following question on his behalf: “Are you Jewish?”
Sure enough, the journalist asked Mike Myers this question, to which Myers responded in a faux British accent:
“Bloody Jews, they’re everywhere.”
After pausing, Myers smiled and continued:
“I’m not, but my wife is.”
