Brian of London here… there are momentous protests about the costs of living in Israel going on up and down the country. I’m pretty convinced the protests are being manipulated by shadowy left wing forces I don’t like but I do agree that many basics of life in Israel are too expensive.
And if you run a middle eastern country, even a stable democracy, it’s probably unwise to go on TV and gloat that you don’t have demonstrations in your streets: someone will make you look foolish.
