Q&A: Islam, Israel and Insurgents

The subjects of Islam and Israel came up on last night’s Q&A on Australia’s ABC.

Israellycool reader Jan writes:

When I was in primary school, I became friends with a little Indian girl by the name of Hanifa Dean.  Even at a young age I could sense that no other children were interacting with her … She had dark skin and wore her hair in plaits… Her father was a herbalist. I was invited over regularly … Her parents were charming… Even as children we understood who we were… She was a Muslim and used to say that we were friends in spite of our different religions….  Many years past and when I came back to live in Perth I happened to bump into her … She told me that she worked at SBS.. And from our conversation she was an academic.  We never rekindled our friendship and our meeting was brief .. I never saw her again.

Last night on Q &A on the panel was Daniel Pipes, two politicians another woman and Hanifa Dean (best selling author).. As the programme progressed it became apparent that Hanifa Dean was representing  the Muslims… She had fire in her eyes and went for Daniel Pipe’s jugular… I was so upset and disappointed in her, but you could see where her loyalties were and she was very much against Israel….  We were so innocent as children.

I would never have believed that Hanifa Dean would “turn”.. She was such a sweet, insecure little girl.
