There’s a story in the Israeli press today and I’m just waiting to see what kind of international attention this get. I have a van and a driver who delivers to Arabs. He does not venture into Arab areas, but he goes close enough and this could happen to him at any time. I’m glad his military background is from a fighting unit.

Two Palestinians killed in botched robbery of Israeli driver near Hebron – Israel Hayom

Truck driver reports shooting at Palestinian gang that tried to kidnap him • Driver, 52-year-old Ashkelon man, sustains minor injuries from blunt object • Third Palestinian man reportedly wounded • MK Avi Dichter: Palestinian robbery attempts should be viewed as terror attacks.

Two Palestinians were killed and a third was wounded on Sunday during what appears to have been an attempted robbery of a Jewish truck driver just south of Hebron.

The truck driver, a 52-year-old resident of Ashkelon who sustained minor injuries from the attempted robbery, reported that the three Palestinians had hurled a blunt object at him and tried to kidnap him and that he had shot them in self defense, Army Radio reported.

The two Palestinians were pronounced dead at a Palestinian hospital.

After shooting the perpetrators, the driver reportedly drove to the nearest checkpoint and reported the incident to the authorities.

I hope the driver recovers quickly.
