It’s Good To Say Thank You

Kay Wilson posted the following:

I just called the police.

…To wish them Happy New Year and thank the Druze unit for catching the terrorists.

Then I called the Jewish family – the ones at the picnic table who used a knife: to untie me.

Then I called the ambulance man – the Jewish Orthodox one, who went back to the forest at night to look for my dog.

Then I called the Arab Muslim surgeon – the one who saved my life

Then I called the Jewish park ranger – the one who interviewed me so kindly in hospital that even in trauma I could recount all the details so he could go with the police and find my friend’s body.

Then I called the court translator, a Muslim lady – the one who came up to me in tears after the sons of evil had been sentenced, gave me a hug and said “we’re not all like that.”

Then I called my bus driver, an Arab Christian – the one who gave me a ring with ‘Shema Israel.’

There are scores of people who in so many ways, continue to nudge me back to life. No matter where you are from, your colour creed or race, you are part of “My” Beautiful Israel.

And I?

I am eternally thankful that you, like me, are here to celebrate another New Year. ??? ???? ??????
