I have had the pleasure of getting to know the last couple of Australian ambassadors to Israel; first Dave Sharma and then Chris Cannan who just recently finished his tenure. It has truly been a pleasure, not least because they have both been true friends of Israel and the Jewish people.
This week in the Australian parliament, Dave paid special tribute to former Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, although he has not been ambassador to Israel for over three years.
As I said, a true friend of Israel and the Jewish people.
