‘Progressive Jews’ Engaging in Lies, Hypocrisy & Antisemitism: Part 1

Corey Balsam of Canada’s Independent Jewish Voices, filmmaker and Jewish Voice for Peace activist Rebecca Pierce, Wake (or perhaps Woke?) Forest University Prof Dr. Barry Trachtenberg, and Foundation for Middle East Peace (FMEP) President Lara Friedman recently got together on Zoom to attack the IHRA definition of antisemitism.

I watched the entire thing so you won’t have to – but also to pick out the inevitable examples of the panelists’ lies, hypocrisy, and – wait for it – antisemitic talk.

There is actually so much to highlight, I couldn’t confine it to just the one post.

First up, we have Balsam admitting the Canadian Jewish community is pro-Israel, before going on to attribute Canada’s pro-Israel voting at the UN to the powerful Canadian “pro-Israel” lobby, even naming Jewish organizations who were behind the IHRA definition push:

In other words, he admits the majority of Jews in Canada are Zionist (so being anti-Zionist is essentially opposing Jews) and even used the antisemitic trope of the powerful Jewish lobby.

Later on, he is loving the fact the Jewish community is becoming increasing divided over this discussion of the IHRA definition:

Because clearly discord and division within the Jewish community is a great thing (at least to those who don’t really care about the Jewish community).

Balsam himself seems to revel in trying to create more division by actively trying to contravene the IHRA definition:

Next we have Trachtenberg minimizing the escalating problem of antisemitism on US campuses, blaming any occurrences of antisemitism only on “White supremacists under the Trump administration”:

This is a dangerous denial of a very real problem that I have documented on this blog again and again. It goes beyond “Zionist” surveys to students coming out and speaking of their harrowing experiences, as well as video and other direct evidence.

Trachtenberg then speaks of Palestinian Solidarity Week on his university’s campus, with “Zionist supremacist students” interrupting the events:

Besides the hypocrisy here – as I have documented time and again, pro-Israel students constantly have their events interrupted by anti-Zionists  – note his use of the words “Zionist supremacists.” A minute earlier, he spoke of White supremacists, so he is drawing a parallel between the two. In a way, he is equating pro-Israel Jews with neo Nazis (something others like Linda Sarsour keep doing). Again, this is arguably antisemitic speech.
