A few days ago, I debunked an anti-Israel libel by how a group called the Good Shepherd Collective. They claimed that “Israeli forces shot a clearly-marked Palestinian journalist during the regular demonstrations in Beita”, and that she was deliberately targeted.
The very video they supplied to “prove” this indicated they were lying.
Yesterday Israeli forces shot a clearly-marked Palestinian journalist during the regular demonstrations in Beita, resisting the colonization of Palestinian lands. The female journalist is just the latest journalist to be targeted while covering the ongoing resistance in Beita. pic.twitter.com/vbjsZVapVk

But I did more than merely point to how the lack of blood in the video did not support the allegation she had been shot. I found an article in Arabic that reported she had been hit by a gas bomb in the neck.
Good Shepherd Collective have responded to my post, not with any substantive proof what they claimed is true, nor with anything to refute the Arabic report I cited. Rather, they merely attacked me.
Israeli hasbarists are working full-time to reframe the shooting of this clearly marked Palestinian journalist in the neck with a rubber bullet. To this, I have a number of things to say.
- I hardly worked “full-time to reframe the shooting” – it took me about 5-10 mins to view the video, deduct there was no way she was shot in the neck and then find a report in Arabic to back this up. Had these propagandists been truly interested in getting to the truth rather than merely demonizing Israel, they would have done the same thing.
- Note the sleight of hand they performed with the first tweet. While they initially alleged we shot her, now they added the words “rubber bullet.” They likely added this to deal with the inconvenient fact there was no blood around her neck.
- What an amazing scoop they came up with to discover I partner with the Central Fund of Israel. Oh wait, they found it clearly written on my website.
Two can play this game. According to their website:
